Congratulations, you’re Engaged!

You’re engaged, now what? Knowing where and when to begin can be daunting- good thing you’ve got Leez Priory to help you then!

The 10 things to do right away:

1. Call your VIPs
Share the big news with your inner circle before updating your status on Facebook. It’s not cool for your acupuncturist and hairdresser to find out before your extended family.

2. Get a Manicure
Everyone’s eyes will be on your hand, so grab your best friend or mum and splurge on a professional manicure, then start showing off that sparkler!

3. Enjoy the Moment
Being engaged means you get to plan the wedding of your dreams. But it also means that you are about to spend the rest of your life with your soul mate. Take some time (at least a couple of weeks) to savour how totally romantic that is before you dive into the logistics.

4. Start Dreaming
This is the fun part: brainstorming with your man about the big day. Compare fantasies and sign up to a Pinterest account to create an online inspiration board (check out CHW for some help!) Go crazy and think big!

5. Add it up
Ready to get down to the nitty-gritty? Settle on a rough guest list and budget.

6. Get out your Calendar
Have a range of dates in mind. Are you imagining a spring garden wedding or autumnal ‘I do’ in the woods? Tip: Ask engaged friends when they are getting hitched, so you can avoid those dates.

7. Hire a Pro
If you want to work with a wedding planner, book them before you come to the venue. We do have Front of House Managers who work as your wedding planner on the day but if you would like the extra support planning, choose a well known wedding planner and make sure you do your research.

8. Book your Venue
Your venue will influence every decision you make, from your colour scheme to the style of your dress, so pin this down early. The key is to find the venue that works with your vision.

9. Stay Organised
This is not the kind of party that you can throw together at the last minute. Stay on track by creating a timeline of your to-do’s. I would recommend using Microsoft Excel to stay organised.

10. Book in-demand suppliers
Once you have secured your venue and date, book your ceremony and start hunting for your photographer and band or singer. Because these people often book one event per day, they get snapped up quickly.
