We are delighted to announce that Leez Priory has won an award at Hitched Wedding Awards 2024 in the Historic Wedding Venue Category—this was awarded thanks to all the amazing reviews and testimonials that our couples gave us in 2023! This is the second year running for which we have won this prestigious award!
We were voted County Champion for the hotly contested Essex area in the Bridebook awards in 2022. In 2020, we won the ‘Best Countryside Wedding Venue’ category at the prestigious British Wedding Awards 2020 for the second year running! We were also shortlisted in the Best Historic Wedding Venue category at Hitched’s UK Wedding Awards in 2017 and 2o19.
Our venue was also voted ‘Best UK Wedding Venue’ by the readers of Wedding Ideas Magazine in 2014, and highly commended in the Best Wedding Venue category for the Perfect Wedding Awards in 2013. Finally, the readers of Wedding Ideas voted Leez Priory as best UK wedding venue for two years in a row, 2007 and 2008.

The house was presented perfectly.
The room the bridal party got ready in was clean and spacious and the whole house was the same.
The grounds were beautiful and made our wedding photos perfect.
The staff were helpful when showing us round the venue, answering any questions we had.
They were welcoming and friendly and even allowed us to taste some canapes which was a lovely touch.
The food was perfect; we have had several of our guests comment on how amazing the food was.
The cocktails after the service were fantastic not sure if this is classed as welcome drinks. We had Croatian liquor served as requested.
Olivia was great on the wedding day. Attentive and quick ensuring everything went smooth.

Gemma was extremely polite and welcoming when we came to visit the venue and answered every question we had during the tour with a smile.
The priory looked lovely with the lights illuminating the house and grounds at night. The outdoor candles especially, really added to the ambience. The Bathrooms were modern and stylish to suit current standards whilst the bedrooms were able to maintain a blend of heritage and modernness. Very clean throughout as well.
Leanne as our wedding manager helped put us at ease despite only having two months to organise everything. She was a huge help, and we wouldn’t have been able to do it without her. All staff were very polite during the day. Very generous portions and everyone spoke highly of how good the food tasted. Wanted to also thank the catering staff with their attentiveness to the different food allergies and intolerances! The cocktails available for the welcome drinks were amazing, especially the cherry rum and ginger beer one!
The gardens were beautifully kept. We really liked the wildlife and chicken. The person who set up the table decorations really excelled.
Leanne took away any wedding stress and allowed us to also enjoy the day. Thank you to Leanne & everyone who worked on our wedding day.
Absolutely amazing. We do not need to mention the impressive building or the stunning grounds – everyone already knows about those.
Just have to mention the staff – they work so efficiently, all day, making sure our wedding day was seamless and, to be honest, easy!

We got married at Leez Priory in October 2024. This venue is stunning both inside and out with immaculately kept grounds and interior.
The hospitality in the lead up to and on the day of the wedding was fantastic. The food was also brilliant. Another great perk of this venue is the amount of onsite accommodation.
We had the best day and evening at Leez Priory and would certainly recommend it!
