This couple really are loves young dream. They started dating when they were only 15. Their romantic relationship lead them to a picture-perfect wedding at Leez Priory under the tremendous Tower.
A breath-taking proposal is something Alice had always dreamt about and of course Albert made her dreams reality. Travelling is a passion for both Alice and Albert so it only made sense to pop the question when they were towards the end of Route 66, a one in a life time trip touring the USA.
The proposal took place under the sunrise at the Grand Canyon.
After scouring lots of different wedding locations online and in magazines They were sure they wanted somewhere local and somewhere that had lots of accommodation as guests were travelling from all parts of the country to be part of the special day.
Leez Priory was the first and the only venue the couple viewed.
“We instantly fell in love with it and booked it straight away. We really liked the rustic and historic look. We also loved that so many parts of our day could be hosted outside.”
They both thought Leez Priory was so different to lots of other venues that they had previously seen in magazines and on blogs.
“There were lots of perks to the venue such as the variety of choice for the ceremony location, the cottage to stay in the night before which includes a hot tub, the choice of menu, guest accommodation that had recently been refurbished as well as the DJ and evening buffet all included in such a good price.”
Alice and Albert were sure they wanted their church pastor to conduct their ceremony, so they got married in a registry office a couple of days before hand but didn’t exchange rings until their big day at Leez in front of all of their loved ones.
The service was led by Jerry brown and the music was conducted by a band from Hillsong Church.
Alice’s Dad walked her down the aisle followed her bridal party where she was reunited with her childhood sweetheart.
There were 8 bridesmaids, 8 groomsmen, 4 flower girls and 2 page boys.
“We proposed to our bridesmaids by putting a rose in a wrapped box with a sign on the inside of the lid that read…will you be my bridesmaid? For the groomsmen, we wrapped a pair of socks with a band that read…will you stand by me as my groomsmen?”
The wedding breakfast consisted of a delicious 3 course meal. To start they had salmon followed by chicken and asparagus and then finished with a mouthwatering chocolate salted caramel brownie.
Once the meal was finished the speeches commenced.
The ‘Father of the bride’ really got the tears flowing as he spoke about memories of Alice and Albert. He had a whole lot of embarrassing stories as the couple started dating when they were 15.
The first dance was song was Ed Sheeran. One that Alice and Albert would always sing at the top of our lungs to in the car. “We really connected to the lyrics with this song”
Our resident DJ kept everyone on the dancefloor until it was time to finish.
“As we are big travelers the honeymoon was something we was always looking forward to. We are quite an active couple so 2 weeks by the beach sunbathing is not really our cup of tea. We like to be out and about doing lots of different activities and enjoying the place and culture for what it is rather than lounging around a resort.”
So they decided to go to Riviera Maya in Mexico on an all-inclusive holiday for 2 weeks where they went snorkeling, swimming with dolphins, zip wiring and many other adventurous activities.
