Giraffe Manor, Kenya

This 1930’s boutique guesthouse is located in Langata Nairobi. Set in 140 acres of indigenous forest, this is the perfect honeymoon destination for animal lovers. Here, friendly giraffes wander around the estate – quite often popping by to say hello to guests.

Telegraph Travel says, “Giraffe Manor may not have the pools and gyms that other luxury hotels in Nairobi have, but the giraffes are far more interesting. Wake to find them grazing outside your bedroom window on the foliage covering the house, then enjoy breakfast with the hysterical sight of giraffes swooping their heads inside the dining room.”

Kakslauttanen Igloo Resort, Finland

This unusual accommodation comes in the form a 1965 Boeing 727 Fuselage. Rescued from a San-Jose airplane graveyard, it was transported to the jungles of Manuel Antonio and reconstructed into a huge hotel suite.

The rooms are all air conditioned and are furnished to high standards in teak furniture from Java with all modern amenities included. On the terrace, which was once the aircraft’s wing, you can sit and watch the amazing views and local wildlife, such as toucans, sloths and monkeys.
